It appears Google has either severely lacking supply or incredibly high demand for their Nexus 4, which completely sold out in its Play store this morning in just a mere 25 minutes.
Either way, its a positive sign for two reasons: Google has made its finest hardware to date and, more importantly, the Android user base has increased that much more.
The great thing about Google selling its handsets outright is that they can not only offer affordable, unlocked and unsubsidized handsets to use with any GSM carrier but also provide itself tangible, immediate stats as to how many people are using Android. For this to happen so soon shows a lot of promise for Google’s expanding its market share.
We will continue to monitor this story. Stay tuned.
Update:
Looks like the Nexus 10 is also sold out. Google is certainly moving those chains.
